about Monica Zanetti
Monica Zanetti is a mom, activist and passionate artist who loves to inspire others with her art. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, Monica has called Illinois home for 10 years, with the last three in Springfield. Monica draws deep inspiration from her family’s roots in Mexico, current events, and her family. She paints with vibrant colors, strong textures, and recycled items that culminate in a passion filled piece full of life!
In the Fall of 2019, Monica fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a retail shop. The opportunity to purchase Springfield’s notable art studio Wild Rose presented itself and Monica took full advantage. Wild Rose is a retail shop that provides more than 30 local artists to display and sell their crafts to local and out of town tourist shoppers. This new avenue for Monica has enabled her to support the arts and her community in new exciting ways. Namely the establishment of a Wild Rose artist funded scholarship fund aimed to help local children develop their artistic skills.
As an artist Monica's work has been featured in locations such as San Francisco’s historic City Hall, Mexican Historical Museum Gift Shop, Sacred Art, Pilson Outspost and her shop in Springfield Illinois. Monica is a motivated activist and regularly attends and supports several community groups in the Springfield area.
Beyond the arts, entrepreneurship, and being a Mom, Monica is most focused on giving back to the community she lives, participates, and loves. Monica established a “Wild Rose Scholarship Fund” that will enable her to provide funds to help with art classes and supplies.
On a personal note, Monica spends her days running Wild Rose, creating art, and enjoying time with her family of her husband, two children, and an army of pets. There is always music, color, and laughter in the air when Monica is around.. She loves to collaborate and explore opportunities of all kinds. She is extremely approachable and would love to hear from you!
